How To Scan A Document

In the past when computers and other technologies were not yet developed, if you want to send a document to someone from another place, you have to mail the document in the post office and the receiver will wait for a few days to a few weeks to receive it. And don’t mention documents being lost in transit. Then came the computer. This piece of ingenious invention has made life a lot easier for everyone. You can send letters that can be received in an instant, and send documents over the Internet. If you know how to scan a document, you not only send it in a few minutes, but you get to keep the original copy as well. Here are a few simple steps.

Make sure that the scanner is installed. Before you use the scanner in your computer, you have to install it. There is an installer CD that comes with the scanner. If you don’t know how to scan a document, read the manual first.

Turn on the scanner. The screen will show a window for the scanner. Most scanners show how to scan a document in simple steps once the scanner window is opened.

Place the document on the scanner. Open the lid and lay the document face down. Close the lid. Click the Scan button on the screen. The progress will show on the screen, and it shows a warning not to open the lid while the document is being scanned. When the task is complete, the screen will show the words Scanning Complete. You can remove the document from the scanner.

Save and send the document. Save the scanned document in your specified location and you can either send it at once or use it another time.

When scanners were first developed, they came alone, meaning the device is for scanning documents and pictures only. As the years passed and the technology improved, scanners have become part of all-in-one devices, including printer and photocopier. It does not need a genius to know how to scan a document using an all-in-one printer or a single scanner.
